Dr. Elizabeth Nadu Denloye
Director, CDNet Ltd/Gte
Board Chair, LEAP Africa

Dr. Elizabeth Nadu Denloye (nee Lawson), is currently a Director at CDNet Ltd/Gte, a non- profit career development initiative and serves as the Board Chairman of Creseada International Limited and LEAP Africa Ltd/Gte.

An alumna of the University of Hull, England, United Kingdom from where she capped her educational pursuit with a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering in 1981, Dr. Denloye is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and an awardee of the Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria. She also attended the Chief Executives Programme of the Lagos Business School and the Business Leaders Programme of the Cranfield School of Management.

Her career life started in the Department of Electrical Engineering of the University of Lagos where she undertook the compulsory National Service. Thereafter, Nadu joined the services of T-Cas (Nigeria) Limited, a telecommunications consulting and engineering firm as a Senior Engineer in 1982.

After about five years with T-Cas, she co-found TELNET Nigeria Limited, a company set up to deliver consultancy services in Telecommunications and allied disciplines, as Executive Director in 1987.

Between 1987 and 2006 when Dr. Denloye left the services of TELNET as Group Managing Director, she led other like-minded professionals to nurture the organisation into a reference point for telecommunications and ICT development in Nigeria. It is also worthy to note that, in line with her people development orientation, Nadu voluntarily retired at 50 to give opportunity to employed staff of TELNET to run the business and take it to higher grounds.

Dr. Denloye's personal diligence and exemplary leadership assured the unleashing of human potential of many young ICT professionals that have become champions and stars in various leading organisations in the country and beyond. She displays a combination of rare leadership capabilities and technical competence in ICT. This has led to several appointments to serve on the Boards of both profit and not-for profit organisations including LEAP Africa, Ecobank Nigeria, the Enterprise Development Centre of the Pan Atlantic University, Igbobi College and Ajesola Solarin Majekodunmi Foundation among others.

A highly cerebral yet unassuming pearl of professional and personal integrity, Dr. Denloye is also a mentor committed to building the capacity of all those that cross her path both in professional and personal lives. A mentor on the Fate Foundation and the Women Mentoring Women Programmes and a super mentor of NECA's Network of Entrepreneurial Women (NNEW), Nadu has deep passion for leadership, corporate governance and personal development.

Nadu is a seasoned IT entrepreneur, mentor, people manager and business leader. She is married to Kayode, a Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Lagos, Nigeria and the union is richly blessed.

 


 

 Mr. Folu Ayeni

Mr. Folu Ayeni
Vice Chairman, Tantalizers

Mr. Folu Ayeni is the Vice Chairman of Tantalizers Plc, one of the largest and fastest growing Fast Food chains in Nigeria, listed on The Nigerian Stock Exchange. He started his professional career with Center for Management Development in 1976 and later joined Lever Brothers Nigeria Plc. as Brand Manager, rising to the position of Marketing Services Manager. He joined Rank Xerox Nigeria Limited in 1986 as Marketing Manager and rose to become the Deputy Managing Director, a position he held until he resigned in 1999.


Mr. Folu Ayeni has held and still holds various Board appointments in several organizations which include: Mr. Folu Ayeni is the Chairman of Sahel Capital’s Advisory Board; Chairman of the Advisory Board, Enterprise Development Centre of Pan-African University, Senkay Nigeria Limited, Baytide Investment & Property Limited, First Bite Foods Limited, Facility Masters Nigeria Limited; Vice Chairman of the Governing Board, University of Ibadan Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation; Member, Governing Board of University of Lagos Centre for Entrepreneurship and Good Governance; Member, Advisory Board, University of Nigeria, Nsukka Centre for Entrepreneurship; and Member, Advisory Board, Ekiti State Economic Development Council. He was the pioneer Executive Chairman of Tantalizers Limited and successfully led the Company to its public listing on The Nigerian Stock Exchange.


Mr. Ayeni graduated with a First Class Degree in Psychology and a Masters of Business Administration from University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and McGill University, Montreal, Canada respectively. He is a Fellow of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, and Member, Institute of Directors, among others.

 

Mr. Charles Anudu
Managing Director / CEO, Swift Network

Mr. Charles Anudu is the Managing Director / CEO of Swift Network. He is also the founding Managing Director and Chairman of The Candel Company Limited, a major player in the Nigerian Agricultural industry. He had worked for Rhone-Poulenc Nigeria leaving the company in 1992 as the General Manager (Agrochemicals) to found Candel.

Charles attended University of Nigeria, Nsukka (1978-1983) and University of Ibadan, Ibadan (1996-1997), where he obtained a Bachelor of Agriculture Degree in Crop Protection and Master of Science Degree in Plant Ecology, respectively.

Charles is an Alumnus of Harvard Business School (Owner-President Management Programme), as well as the Owner – Director Management Programme of INSEAD, Fontainbleau, France. He also attended the Advanced Management Programme (AMP) of the Lagos Business School. Charles is currently a member of the Economic Intelligence Committee of the Presidency, Federal Republic of Nigeria and belongs to many socio – cultural organizations including the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO).

Mr. Anudu has also been severally honoured for his stellar contributions to the Nigerian economy, having successfully launched companies in the key sectors of the Nigerian economy.

Mr. Adeyemi Candide-Johnson SAN
Senior Partner, Strachan Partners

Mr. Yemi Candide-Johnson SAN is the senior partner at Strachan Partners. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in July 1984 and conferred with the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria in September 2003. After he received his LLM degree from the University of London in 1984, he worked as counsel in the leading chambers of John B Majiyagbe SAN, in Kano between 1984 and 1990. Mr. Candide-Johnson SAN is the author of several scholarly papers and is engaged as leading counsel in ongoing major and high profile commercial and public policy litigation across the courts of Nigeria. He has acted as counsel or arbitrator in several domestic and international commercial arbitrations in the maritime, petroleum and construction industries. In 1988 he was appointed a notary public for Nigeria and in 1996 a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators of England (FCIArb). He is now an approved tutor and examiner for the UK Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is an honorary fellow at the Centre for International Legal Studies in Salzburg, Austria, and a supporting member of the London Maritime Arbitration Association.

He also served as member on many panels and has received several awards in recognition of his achievements.

 
Mr. Babatunde Dabiri
Chairman, Lagos Pensions Commission

Mr. Tunde Dabiri is Chairman, Lagos State Pensions Commission (LASPEC), an agency of government whose establishment he supervised. He holds a B.Sc (Econs) degree from the University of Ibadan (1974) and an MBA from Columbia University, New York, USA (1978). He started his career at Chase Merchant Bank Ltd. (CMB), which later changed its name to Continental Merchant Bank Ltd. While at CMB, he was seconded to Chase Manhattan Bank, London, for fourteen months where he obtained the Global Credit Certification (1979) of the bank. He subsequently joined Prime Merchant Bank Ltd. as the Deputy Managing Director and Chief Executive. Tunde moved from Prime Merchant Bank in 1990 to establish Fountain Trust Bank Ltd. He was the Managing Director /CEO for 8yrs.

Mr. Dabiri later joined Magnum Trust Bank Plc in December 1998 as the MD/CEO successfully transforming it into a full-fledged commercial bank after the divestment of Guaranty Trust Bank. Until his retirement in 2008, he was the Group Managing Director/CEO of Sterling Bank Plc (The consolidated consortium of 5 banks consummated in 2005). He played a major role in change management initiatives to ensure its strategic business focus on trade finance, capital markets and consumer banking services.

Mr. Tunde Dabiri is involved with several organizations which include in the education sector(Lagos Business School, Lagos State University, University of Ibadan, Corona Schools) and the manufacturing sector(Capetex Industries Ltd, Academy Press Ltd, LT& C Colleagues Ltd e.t.c) just to mention a few.

 

Mrs. Juliet Ehimuan Chiazor
Google Country Manager, Nigeria

Mrs. Juliet Ehimuan Chiazor started her career at Shell Petroleum Development Company as Performance Monitoring and Quality Assurance Supervisor. Following that, she worked as Program Manager at Microsoft UK for six years, initially managing Strategic Projects for MSN EMEA. She left Microsoft in 2005 to start SI Consulting Ltd UK, providing collaborative programs that connect African Business leaders with their global counterparts. In the last two years, Ehimuan worked as General Manager, Strategic Business Units at Chams Plc leading four major lines of business, and key nationwide government projects.

Juliet holds an Executive MBA from the London Business School, a Post Graduate degree in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge, UK; and a Bachelors degree (1st class honours) in Computer Engineering from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. She is a recipient of the London Business School Global Women’s Scholarship, and at Cambridge University she received two scholarly awards – Selwyn College Scholar and Malaysian commonwealth Scholar. She is a Fellow of the Cambridge Commonwealth Society.

Mr. Simon Kolawole
Founder/CEO, Cable Newspaper Ltd

Mr. Simon Kolawole is the founder/CEO of Cable Newspaper Ltd, Lagos, publishers of TheCable online newspaper (www.thecable.ng) and Founder/Director of Aces and Associates Ltd, UK, owners of Kiddies Kottage Nursery School. He was Editor of Nigeria's influential newspaper, THISDAY, from 2007-2012. He currently writes a weekly column for THISDAY, The Sunday newspaper.

Kolawole earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from the University of Lagos, and a Master’s degree in Governance and Development from the University of Sussex, UK, as a British Chevening Scholar. He was named among Africa’s next generation of leaders by The Banker, a publication of Financial Times of London, in 2009. He was Mo Ibrahim Fellow on the Governance for Development in Africa Initiative at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, in 2010.

In March 2012, he was named Young Global Leader (YGL) by the World Economic Forum. As a YGL, he has attended courses on leadership at the Yale University (2013) and at the Kennedy School, Harvard University, both in the United States.

Kolawole the writer concentrates most of his thoughts on nation-building and its impediments, and has written extensively on governance, conflict and development. His primary academic interest is 'fiscal sociology' - how the fiscal relationship between a state and its citizens impacts on the quality of governance.

 
 

Dr. Abdu Mukhtar

Dr. Abdu Mukhtar has over 20 years of extensive professional experience in both private and public sectors, having served in the following capacities: Research Associate, Boston University Medical Centre, Boston Massachusetts, USA; Consultant, Harvard Centre for International Development, Boston, Mass; Associate Consultant, Pittiglio Rabin Todd & McGrath (PRTM) Consulting, Boston Mass; Transaction Adviser/Special Assistant to The Director General, Bureau of Public Enterprises, Abuja- FCT, Nigeria, and Senior Special Assistant to the Minister of the FCTA on Economic Matters, FCT Abuja.

He holds membership in many professional and exclusive organizations. He also serves as Chairman of the following organizations: Abuja Urban Mass Transport Company, Abuja Markets Management Ltd, Abuja Film Village Ltd, Abuja Connect Ltd, Abuja Technology Village FZ and Abuja Automotive Village Company Ltd.

Dr. Mukhtar holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School. He also has Doctorate degree in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine from the Boston School of Medicine. He is also a Mason Fellow of Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

Mrs. Ndidi Okonkwo Nwuneli (MFR)

Mrs. Ndidi Nwuneli is the founder of LEAP Africa, one of Nigeria's leading nonprofit organizations, the co-founder of AACE Food Processing & Distribution, an indigenous agroprocessing company and a partner at Sahel Capital, an advisory and private equity firm focused on the agribusiness sector in West Africa. She has 19 years of experience in international development and has led a range of initiatives in Ghana, Liberia, Mali, Nigeria, Rwanda and Senegal.

Ndidi started her career as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company, working in their Chicago, New York and Johannesburg Offices. She returned to Nigeria to serve as the pioneer executive director of the FATE Foundation, a leading entrepreneurship development organization in 2000. She established LEAP Africa and NIA in 2002 and 2003 respectively.

She holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a BsC with honors from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Ndidi was recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and received a National Honor – Member of the Federal Republic from the Nigerian Government. In 2011, she was listed as one of the 20 Youngest Power African Women by Forbes. In 2013, she was honored by the Global Fund for Women during their 25th Anniversary Celebration in San Francisco. She serves on numerous international and local boards including Nestle Nigeria, Cornerstone Insurance, Nigerian Breweries Plc. and USAID's Advisory Committee on Voluntary Foreign Aid.

Ndifreke Okwuegbunam
Programme Manager

Ndifreke Okwuegbunam is programme manager of LEAP Africa. Prior to her current role, she served as the executive director at United Way, Nigeria and worked with FATE Foundation in different capacities where she worked with over 1000 volunteer, organized and managed internal and external training programmes, recruitment, designed and developed programmes/training curriculum as well as monitoring and evaluation. She was also involved in the management of the Business mentoring programme at FATE.

She has also worked with Communications Direct Ltd, UK, (the customer service division of 3G Hutchinson Plc.) as a Human Resources officer, Sales and Customer service advisor as well as the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority Abuja – a federal government parastatal as regulatory advisor working with companies in the oil and gas sector.

She holds a B.SC in Applied Chemistry from the University of Uyo. With a wealth of professional experience garnered over eight years across different industries including communications, public sector, and nonprofit; her areas of specialization are honed in not for profit management, relationship management, advisory services and community development.

Ndifreke is passionate about creating sustainable solutions on development issues and working with people who are underserved; as part of her personal activities, she serves as a volunteer with the Nigerian Red Cross Orphanage, Yaba, and with Freedom Foundation Genesis House, a rehabilitation home for destitute young women.

 
 
Mrs. Iyadunni Olubode
Executive Director, LEAP Africa

Iyadunni Olubode is the Executive Director of LEAP Africa Ltd./Gte. She has two economics degrees; a B.Sc. from the University of Lagos, Nigeria and M.Sc. in Energy Economics and Policy from the University of Surrey, UK.

Iyadunni started her career in the treasury department of Intercontinetal Bank Plc and subsequently moved into management consulting. She comes to LEAP with specialised skills in strategy development and execution, talent management, project management and business development. During her career at Accenture, she was involved in reorganising enterprises, developing strategies and managing talent for leading public and private sector organisations. She has also worked as an independent development consultant on a number of public sector initiatives.

Iyadunni is passionate about socio-economic development and has a deep commitment to developing people and enabling them to reach their full potential.

 
 

Ms. Isioma Ogodazi
Head, Diamond Bank Academy

Ms. Isioma Ogodazi is the head of learning at Diamond Bank Academy. Her career in Human Resources Management spans 15 years. She spent 8 years as the General Manager/Head Human Resources Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria from 1999 – 2007 before taking up responsibility at the UK office of the Group as Head, Talent Management, Global Support Functions. Isioma has also served on the management team of Guaranty Trust Bank (GT Bank) where she was from 1992 – 1998 first as Manager Head Quality/Customer Service Manager and then as the Senior Manager/Head Human Resources.

Isioma holds a B.Sc Honours Degree in Humanities and a Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management from the London School of Economics.

Mr. Udeme Ufot is co-founder and Group CEO of the SO&U Group which comprises an advertising Agency(SO&U), a Public Relations/Events company( Soulcomm), an Audio Visual Production company(Lucid AV), and a Media Independent( Maximedia).

He is an alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Lagos Business School and Swedish Institute of Management.

He started his career at Desmark Advertising, Calabar in 1982 from where he later joined Insight Communications Limited in Lagos as a Senior Visualiser. He spent five years at Insight, rising rapidly to the position of Deputy Creative Director (Art) in 1988.

He co-founded SO&U in 1990 and in its twenty five years of operation, the firm has been associated with some of the most successful and famous brand building campaigns in Nigeria.

Udeme has served the Advertising industry in Nigeria at various levels. He is a past President of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN), the youngest in the history of the association. He has served as Council Member of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) where he has also chaired many standing and ad-hoc committees. He has facilitated several AAAN, APCON and NIMN training programmes where he is a highly sought after speaker.

He serves on the boards of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) as well as Special Olympics Nigeria.He is also a past President of the Lagos Business School Alumni Association,member of the Institute of Directors (IOD), member of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN), fellow of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), and member of the Nigeria-South Africa Chamber of Commerce.

In August 2010, he was conferred with the distinguished alumni award of the Department of Industrial Design, ABU Zaria, for his contributions to Industrial Design in Nigeria and in September 2014, he was awarded the national honour, Member Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) in recognition of his outstanding impact on the Nigerian advertising industry and the nation at large.

Udeme was awarded FATE Model Entrepreneur 2012 by FATE Foundation for epitomising a true Nigerian entrepreneur.
