The Business Leadership Programme is modeled after international best practices. The objectives of the programme are to:

  • Expose business owners to critical skills and tools for effective leadership in business
  • Give them the unique opportunity to reflect on their current leadership abilities and to enhance their leadership and management skills
  • Support them through the process of building successful and sustainable institutions and planning for their succession

Participants are required to attend a four-day leadership training and skills workshop and to take advantage of LEAP's one-on-one coaching sessions. They also become part of the LEAP Africa network.

Training topics include - the art and act of leadership, unleashing personal strengths and overcoming weaknesses, visioning and goal-setting, personal and organizational mission statements, motivating and coaching people for peak performance, time management, networking, negotiations, succession planning, conflict resolution, communications, moral and organizational leadership, creativity, building world class Board of Directors, building a culture of excellence, and instituting systems and structures to ensure long-term sustainability. 

TARGET PARTICIPANTS

Business owners who manage small and medium sized enterprises (not aspiring entrepreneurs or start-ups) and reside in Aba, Abuja, Benin, Kano, Kaduna, Lagos and Port Harcourt.

NOMINATION PROCESS

LEAP is collaborating with First Bank Nigeria Plc, Citigroup foundation, Abuja Enterprises Agency, Diamond Bank, and Zenith International Bank Plc in the nomination of participants for its Business Leadership programmes. LEAP utilizes a transparent and rigorous screening process for selecting participants. The participants must be committed to change and fluent in spoken and written English.
