INTEGRITY INSTITUTE

Corruption continues to linger on as a daunting obstacle to sustainable development in Nigeria. Most efforts to address corruption are top-down, focused primarily on politicians and government institutions. This approach ignores the fact that corruption pervades all facets of the Nigerian society.
Given our conviction that integrity is a critical attribute of an effective leader, LEAP Africa is committed to a bottom-up approach to fighting corruption and launched the Integrity Institute in 2005.

OBJECTIVES

The Integrity Institute aims:
  • To provide youth leaders with a heightened sense of awareness about the many facets of corruption in Nigeria and its impact on the society.
  • To alert the youth to the important role that they play in promoting corruption, either through their actions or inactions.
  • To equip them with the skills, tools and support that they require to change their beliefs and behaviour and those of their peers and followers, with regards      to the issue of corruption.

Through the support of the UK Government’s Global Opportunities Fund, to date LEAP held the workshop for over 1000 youth in five Nigerian cites.
