Business Leadership Programme
In an effort to ensure that businesses outlive their founders, LEAP launched the Business Leadership Programme (BLP) in 2003 to equip business owners who run small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) with the skills and tool that are required to effectively and efficiently run organizations that will outlive them. The programme underscores the importance for business owners to plan for their succession and institute effective systems, structures and values within their organizations to ensure long term sustainability.

Modelled after international best practices, the objectives of the programme are to:
  • Expose business owners to critical skills and tools for effective leadership in business
  • Give them the unique opportunity to reflect on their current leadership abilities and to enhance their leadership and management skills
  • Build a close community of business owners who will encourage and support each other to build successful and sustainable businesses

   Training topics include - the art and act of leadership, developing personal and organization’s mission and vision statements, goal setting, time management,    networking, trust walk, negotiations, succession planning, communications, creativity, moral and organizational ethics, instituting systems and structures for    long term sustainability, motivating and coaching people for peak performance, organizational culture and building a world class Board of Directors.

TARGET PARTICIPANTS
Business owners who manage small and medium sized enterprises (not aspiring entrepreneurs or start-ups). The Programme has been offered in these cities- Aba, Abuja, Benin, Enugu, Kano, Kaduna, Lagos, Minna and Port Harcourt (not restricted to these cities) .

GOVERNANCE TRAINING FOR BOARDS OF DIRECTORS
Designed for Boards of private and non profit organizations, the programme seeks to equip directors with knowledge and insights into their roles, responsibilities and liabilities as Board members. In addition, it supports Board members with the skills and tools they require to operate effectively and efficiently in providing oversight and direction to their organizations. It also highlights the importance of the directors in setting and maintaining appropriate ethical standards in their organizations.
